Afro Street is the heart of Afrocentric fashion in Bristol - a boutique lifestyle and fashion shop platforming and championing black-owned, African and Caribbean inspired businesses. Designers & Artisans are handpicked globally for their craft, style and high quality to ensure they compliment and elevate one another.
Founded by Danny Duod, originally from Ghana, & wife Kate Spence Duod as an extension of their renowned Duodu London fashion brand, Afro Street are a beloved fixture of the Arcade's range of fiercely independent shops.
Afro Street have just celebrated their one year anniversary - hosting one of their signature parties to commemorate the event, including (as always) a resident DJ spinning beats to keep the spirit lively, as well as literal spirits in the form of rum cocktails from classic Afro Street brands like tamarind-infused Kromanti and the coconut rum Uche.
Not content to rest on their laurels, however, Afro Street are starting the new year with a bang by hosting an all-out edition of one of their classic Fashion Shows.
Having previously held smaller-scale shows to celebrate entries into their seasonal collections, Afro Street are treating the public to a truly impressive show celebrating both brand new and classic pieces from across their range of designer Afro-inspired clothing.
As before, the show will be scored by Afro Street's resident highly-talented DJ to keep the energy bright and colourful - just like the apparel available from Afro Street!
This is a great opportunity to get an insight into what Bristol will be wearing this year - and get ahead of the trend. Whether you're looking for men's, women's, gender-neutral apparel or just high-quality, stylish accessories, this is fashion show with a bit of something great for everyone.
The show will take place on Saturday the 10th of February, from 18:30 - 21:30, and will be at the Afro Street shop in the Arcade Bristol, units 23-25. For more information, check out Afro Street's Facebook page here, or their website here.
